The SB Echo is a field-tested version of the Sailbuoy containing a EK80 (WBT) Simrad echo sounder with a 333 kHz split beam transducer. It is also equipped with oxygen, temperature and conductivity sensors. The transducer is gimbaled to ensure the best possible data. Extensive testing has been done in the fishing fields of north Norway showing good results. A total of 1500 km was travelled and 260 hours of echosounder data collected. The mission is part of the GLIDER project run by Akvaplan Niva.
